Fixing the hoses and fittings on your automobile can be a messy task if you don’t have the right equipment. You need something to clamp the hose down as you remove the fitting from its place. This video explains how a specialized tool can help you solve this problem.
All you have to do is get another clamp and use it to close off the hose before you remove the fitting that holds the hose in place. You will get a few drops of fluid no matter what, but the clamp will prevent an absurd amount from being spilled. All you have to do is fit the clamp around the hose and screw it tight.
The job is much neater and cleaner thanks to this nifty tool. You can unscrew the clamp when the job is done and the hose is reattached with its fitting. The clamps come in various sizes so that you can use them on all of the different fluid lines in your car.
Another benefit is that these clamps keep air out of the car’s hoses. For instance, you want to use the clamps on brake lines if your car has anti-lock brakes, or ABS. These are exceedingly common on modern vehicles. If air gets in, it can cause problems that you can only solve if you have access to a factory-level scan tool.
