Everyone dreads the day that their car breaks down, leaving them stranded on the roadside and needing to call a towing service. However, there are plenty of signs that will likely pop up well before the engine actually breaks down. This video explains some of the most common signs that you might experience a breakdown.
The check engine light is the most obvious and common sign that your engine is going to break down. Sensors in the engine will go off for various reasons. If you see a “check engine” light, don’t worry too much. These issues are not as serious. An engine light is the one you need to pay attention to.
A TPMS, or tire pressure monitoring system, is another sign you need to be aware of. Low tire pressure can lead to multiple issues and create an unsafe vehicle. You can experience trouble with handling, a flat tire, or even a blowout. If your TPMS light goes on, go to a gas station with an air pressure supply to check your tires and refill them as needed.
Groaning brakes are another issue to be wary of. It signifies that your brake pads are completely worn down, and you have metal-on-metal friction. For more information, check out the video above.
